Congratulations are in order for the Gunjur Ward Councillors elect - Honourable Momodou Charreh Gibba.
It is my contention that you deserve to be re-elected. Your stellar servings of Gunjur paid off in a dazzling electoral victory.
In the same vein, many thanks are in order for Mr Jobe Touray. He is no doubt a Honourable man.
We, however, plea that both Honourable Gibba and Mr. Jobe Touray remained magnanimous in winning and in defeat. It is their responsibility to tame the emotions, energy, and behaviour of their supporters post election winning celebrations.
There should be decorum, empathy, with no space for sneering, insults, persinal attacks, and/or any uncalled behaviour to denigrate each other.
The holy hands of consoling, family, and unity should be extended to the losing camp and to their candidate.
Gunjur's unity is the bigger picture and should be the only winner here. The fight for the Ward Councillors position should not result should not bring political divide that will severely affect Gunjurs' unity in to alive.
The two candidates are all formidable in their own rights. But, we have to now rally behind the chosen candidate and respect the other side.
The interplay between Gunjur’s unity, the intertwined family relationship, personality, and politics should be salve with care.
Need I remind you that the wind of unity is blowing within Gunjur.
And, Gunjurians, so far, have responded in unison to welcome this rare trajectory of our dear mother land.
Nothing, therefore, Nothing, I emphasise, should derail this eye-catching achievement.
This gesture of precious heart-swelling unity, perhaps, never seen in Gunjur history, should be jealousy preserved at all costs.
Once again, for the sake of our determined display of unity, Gunjur's interest most prevailed.
We are all in this together. One Gunjur, One people.
