In a significant milestone for Triple C of Kartong, the institution has been awarded a grant of 282,240 Dalasi (approximately €4,000) from the Ministry of Higher Education as part of the RISE project. The award, which comes nearly a decade after Triple C’s founding, was received at the Award Ceremony of The Skills, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) ceremony chaired by H.E Adama Barrow, President of The Gambia at Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center on Friday, 28th February 2025.

A delegation of Triple C’s board members, teachers, and students attended the event, marking a proud moment for the institution. This funding is a testament to Triple C’s commitment to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and its dedication to equipping young people with the skills needed for the modern labour market.
Accreditation and Recognition
Following its official accreditation in December 2024, Triple C was eligible to apply for government funding, further solidifying its position as a key player in Gambian education system. The institution’s inclusion in the RISE project, which will run for five years, highlights its growing reputation as a serious and trusted partner in national education development.

Empowering Youth Through Skills Training
The Gambian government has made it a priority to enhance the quality and relevance of TVET programs, ensuring that young people receive education that aligns with modern labour market demands. For many living in poverty, initiatives like RISE serve as a second chance, offering access to skills training, income-generating opportunities, and social protection measures.

According to the institution, Triple C’s mission perfectly aligns with these goals, striving to build a resilient, inclusive, skilled, and just society. By providing high-quality vocational training, the institution is actively contributing to economic empowerment and social mobility in The Gambia.
Looking Ahead
With this new funding, Triple C is set to further enhance its programs, expand opportunities for students, and continue bridging the gap between education and employment. The recognition by the Ministry of Higher Education underscores the importance of investing in vocational education as a pathway to economic development and personal empowerment.

This achievement marks a new chapter for Triple C, reinforcing its role as a pioneer in skills development and youth empowerment in The Gambia.
