Babucarr Boy Jammeh, a US-based Gunjurian, and former defender of Young Dabanani FC in Gunjur, has donated materials to Gunjur United football club in contribution of his modest mound to the development of sports in the community.
The councilor of Gunjur ward Momodou Munchar Gibba enumerated the package included 24 track shirts, a complete First Aid Box with an Infrared Forehead Thermometer and 28 Sets of Crew Socks.
The items were officially handed over to the technical director of Gunjur Utd FC yesterday at 4.00 pm.
Councilor Momodou Muncharr Gibba said:
“This is a great and generous gesture from Bubacar Boy Jammeh of the United States. This is not a donation , but a generous contribution of his to promote Gunjur Utd FC that belongs to all of us. Therefore, on behalf of the whole community I wish to express and register our sincere thanks and appreciation to Boy Jammeh.I wish I could also contribute in a different way, however I equally thank all those who have been contributing to Gunjur Football and it is my hope that many others would also emulate Babucar Boy Jammeh”. Baboucarr Boy Jammeh played football for Dabanani in Gunjur and Saraba of Brikama for many years before travelling to the United States of America. He now lives in North Carolina with his family and works as Process Engineer for Dialight Corporation.
