A drive for Street-lighting of Gunjur has kicked off in earnest thanks to the Santo-Su Youths. The move which aims to install street lights at strategic parts of Gunjur to help fight night crime as safely concerns grow in the country.
The Santo-Su Youth organisation installed the street lights from the Gunjur Health Centre to the last compound on the same street. The project was made possible through the financial contribution of the youths, men and women of the area with support from Gunjur based Red Star Family company, according to Amadou Demba who coordinated the project.
Speaking at the event, ward councillor Hon. Momodou Charreh Gibba said that the beautiful initiative by the Santo-Su youths sets up a challenge to him as councillor and the VDC to ensure that this effort is replicated across the town especially at areas that may be prone to crime and criminal activities.
“The gunjur VDC and WDC are very much grateful and thankful to Santa-Su Youths for their great initiative and collaboration.”, remarked Hon. Gibba.
