Gambian president, Adama Barrow, has strongly signaled willingness to cobble an alliance with the party of former tyrant Yahya Jammeh ahead of 2021 elections.
The president made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with Eye Africa when he was pressed to clear rumors of alliance talks between him and the party of his predecessor. His words:
“In politics everything is possible. I might even alliance(SIC) with UDP. It’s possible. We are ready to work....who thought that all eight parties would come together. For twenty years they were trying to go into alliance .It didn’t happen. When we came it happened. So nothing is impossible. You are laughing. It’s possible .I’m not ruling out anything as far as it’s Gambia, as far we all want to come together, and work in the interest of this country I can go into coalition with any party. So I’m not even ruling out my main opposition. UDP is my main opposition”.
