Gunjur Youth Movement on Thursday 23rd of May, 2019 distributed books to various educational institutions in Gunjur in their effort to complement development programs in the community of Gunjir. The books were received as donation from Mrs Jeanine Ngabonziza, Head Teacher at Fojanga Academy.
GYM, accompanied by Mrs Jeanine Ngabonziza distributed the books to the various establishments in the seaside community. Lanuwarr Community Pre-School, Gunjur Lower Basis School, Gunjur Upper and Senior Secondary school, a newly established Library and a Disability Center all received books for use by the pupils. Reacting to the generous donation from Mrs Ngabonziza, the PRO of the youth movement had this to say: “As the saying goes"Education is the Key to every success" therefore we are not paying our attention to only the environment but more especially education and health. An educated community is a developed community. Gunjur Youth Movement is still calling and knocking on doors in order to compliment the noble course they're doing to move this country forward. If you can help in any way either cash or kind it's highly welcome and it must be appreciated.” Speaking in an interview with Gunjuronline, Gunjur Youth Movement lead Sulayman enunciated:
“As the president of gunjur youth Movement, I will like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs Jeanine and Fojanga Academy for this kind gesture. This will go a long way to strengthen education and cultivate the habit of reading in our young people both locally and nationally.”
He added: It's a great initiative, especially for people with disabilities. These are people who are marginalized by our communities and they find it very difficult to cope with the system. We believe they deserve equal treatment and opportunities”.
Gunjur Youth Movement is an organisation involved in environmental protection, promoting education, health awareness, enterprise and youth mentor ship programs geared towards the socio-economic development of the community of Gunjur.
