Former minister of youths and sports, Henry Gomez, has called on UDP leader Ousainou Darboe to relinquish his dream of becoming president ‘because he is too old’.
In the aftermath of a successful UDP congress in which the party demonstrated its numerical strength, Gomez who is a youth adviser to president Barrow deplored:
“This is a country of young people with a majority young population. Darboe should stop trying to become president because he is too old to rule this country. If he wants to rule this country it can’t be by force. If anyone wants to go to the State House they should use the front door. But he is an old pa and we don’t need old pa in that office because we need someone who can address issues affecting youth.
He said Adma Barrow’s father has not left him anything to give Gambians. He is the one Adama Barrow called his father and he called him his son. So if he is saying Adama Barrrow’s father hasn’t left anything for him, he can only be referring to himself”.
