A proud daughter of Gunjur is stepping forward with purpose, passion, and preparation. Fatou Kebbeh, widely known as Fatima Da Voice, has officially declared her intention to contest for the Kombo South seat in the upcoming National Youth Parliamentary Elections.

Born and raised in the heart of Gunjur, Fatou represents a generation of young leaders rooted in community values and committed to national progress. Her declaration is more than a political ambition - it is a call to service.
“I do not seek to represent for the sake of presence,” she said. “I seek to represent because absence has never served us.”
Fatou brings with her an impressive blend of academic excellence, grassroots advocacy, and leadership experience. She is currently completing her final year of Journalism studies at the University of The Gambia, following distinctions earned through the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication (MAJaC).
In addition to her academic qualifications, Fatou has completed the TAF Leadership Academy, participated in YALI Cohort 40, and graduated from the Ultimate Mentorship Association’s one-year program, where she was recognised with the Advocacy Champion Award.
Locally, she is well known not just for her leadership, but for her art and activism. As a WasteAid Ambassador and winner of the WasteAid National Poetry Competition, she has used her voice to highlight environmental and social issues affecting Gambian youth.

Her campaign is focused on inclusive advocacy - especially for girls, marginalised youth, and those whose voices often go unheard. Her message resonates with many in Kombo South, particularly young people hungry for authentic, action-oriented representation.
Fatou Kebbeh’s announcement has already sparked conversations across the constituency, with many praising her courage, clarity, and commitment.
As Kombo South prepares for this important election, one thing is clear: Fatou Kebbeh is not just running for office - she is rising for her people.
