On Wednesday, 3rd December, Fatou Jagne from Gambia shared her human trafficking story at the High Level Dialogue (HLD), The year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced conference in Kampala, Uganda.
Fatou narrated her story filled with pain and passion and how she started an Organisation to defend other young women from trafficking following her harrowing experience of being trafficked. Fatou ended her speech to a standing ovation that left the audience in tears.
To ensure that no other girls are trafficked as they experienced, Network Of Girls Against Human Trafficking (NOGAHT) was founded by Fatou Jagne and other survivors of human trafficking. The main aim and vision of the organisation is to end human trafficking in all forms.
Fatou Jagne said afterwards:
“My story, am very happy to share it with you (young people)
Speak🗣up, it's time, break the silence”
