Gambia: Wednesday 9 September
Omar Colley, Italian outfit Sampdoria’s “no-nonsense stopper” is heavily linked with a move to the Scottish league champions, Celtic.
Colley who is valued by the Serie A side at £9m is also attracting interest from Parma as a possible long-term replacement for 38 year old Bruno Alves who will now remain in Italy with Parma after he signed a new deal.
However, any hopes of a move to Scotland for the Gambian star depends on Sampdoria’s search for a further £30m as Colley is one of six players who could potentially leave the club as they look to boost their coffers. Colley has a £10.8m release clause in his current Sampdoria contract.
The 27 year old Colley, a former KuPS, Djurgårdens IF, Genk, Real De Banjul and Wallidan FC defender and 2009 Under-17 Champion signed for Sampdoria in June 2018, making 32 appearances for the club.
