World Politics: Former British Prime Minister David Cameroon has returned to frontline politics as new British Foreign Secretary.
David Cameron, 57 a former British Prime Minister has made a comeback as British Foreign Secretary, replacing James Cleverly.
David Cameron resigned as Prime Minister when Britain voted in a referendum to leave the European Union in June 2016.
Mr Cameroon was seen outside Number 10 Downing Street Monday morning as prime Minister Reshi Sunak shuffles his cabinet.
Number 10 wrote on X announcing the appointment of David Cameron as Foreign Secretary:
"The Rt Hon @David_Cameron has been appointed Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs @FCDOGovUK"
Suella Braverman, Home Secretary was earlier sacked by Prime Minister Sunak after she was accused of fuelling Armistice Day tensions by slamming Met Police chiefs.
"The departing Foreign Secretary is the first appointment in a sweeping shake-up of his top team by the PM currently underway." The Sun reports.
