It has been four days since news of an apparent escape from Mile 2 prisons of a highly dangerous murder suspect, Buba Drammeh, and there has been no word from Gambian authorities.
It is inconceivable for a murder suspect to escape the tightly guarded Mile 2 prosions without a highly sophisticated operation to aid the escape.
The news of Buba Drammeh’s supposed escape from prison during his trial for murder of father of eight, Buba Jammeh from Gunjur over communial land dispute will further alienate the family as they patiently wait for justice to be be served.
Buba had 8 young children, one of whom was born two months after his untimely death.
GunjurOnline calls on all the relevant authorities to leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of the scandal and do whatever it takes to bring Buba Drammeh to justice and punish all those involved in his escape from prison.
Buba Jammeh’s family deserve justice, anything less will be a travesty.
Gambia government must come out and issue a statement surrounding the circumstances of the “great prison escape” of Buba Drammeh.
