Former AFPRC junta spokesperson, retired Captain Ebou Jallo, has embraced a court reusing stripping Yankuba Touray of immunity in the murder of former state minister Ousman Koro Ceesay.
Ousman Koro Ceesay was killed in the lead up to a major budget speech in which he was expected to reveal corruption in the nascent regime.
The Supreme Court yesterday passed a judgment declaring Yankuba Touray’s claim to immunity as null and void.
Weighing in on the matter, Ebou Jallow said:
“Murder is obviously NOT an act that is legally acknowledged in the performance of the AFPRC’s official duties according to Section 232(13) (1) of The Gambia constitution. I think the High Court should now order Yankuba Touray to go back to the TRRC and testify truthfully what he knows about the murder of Koro Ceesay. This is the only way to bring closure to this case”.
