The Brikama Area Council (BAC) has ushered in a new era of Council law enforcement with the successful graduation of its 2024 BAC Police Intake. This marks a significant step towards enhancing security, compliance, and community engagement within the Brikama Area Council jurisdiction.

The newly recruited officers have undergone extensive training in physical fitness, ethics, and compliance, equipping them with the necessary skills to serve the community with professionalism and integrity. As the face of the revamped BAC Police, they are ready to enforce statutory regulations and maintain order while fostering positive relationships with residents.
A key aspect of the BAC Police transformation is its emphasis on community-oriented policing. As part of their training, recruits attended a series of lectures delivered by law enforcement professionals. These sessions aimed to instill a sense of duty and a deeper understanding of how Council police can work collaboratively with the public to create a safer environment.
By focusing on engagement and responsiveness, BAC Police are not just enforcers of the law but also active participants in the well-being of the community. Their approach priorities conflict resolution, compliance with Council bylaws, and ensuring that public services run smoothly and efficiently.

BAC’s investment in its Council police force reflects a broader vision of governance that emphasises accountability and service under Chairman Yankuba Darboe. The council recognises that well-trained and motivated officers are essential for maintaining public trust and ensuring effective law and regulatory enforcement.
During their commissioning, BAC Chairman Yankuba Darboe congratulated the recruits and expressed confidence in their ability to uphold the law with integrity and professionalism. He emphasised that their role is not only to enforce regulations but also to serve as role models within the community.
With the introduction of the new BAC Police, residents can expect a more structured, disciplined, and community-focused approach from BAC Police. The council is optimistic that this fresh intake will set a precedent for future recruits and strengthen the foundation for improved governance and public service delivery in West Coast Region.
As these new officers embark on their journey, their success will be measured not just by their enforcement of laws but by their ability to build trust, foster partnerships, and contribute to a safer and more cohesive community.
