Breaking: UTG appoints Ahmed Manjang as lecturer in Microbiology

Gunjur’s Microbiologist and environmental activist, Ahmed Manjang has been appointed as lecturer in Microbiology at School of Medicine and Allied Sciences by the University of The Gambia(UTG). Mr Manjang’s appointment commences on 1st September 2021.

The universities of Reading and Manchester trained microbiologist has extensive experience in the sciences having worked for establishments both in the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mr Manjang was a Senior Technologist at the King Fahad Medical City in Rhyad until his return to The Gambia to help impart his knowledge in the next generation of Gambian scientists.

When asked by GunjurOnline on leaving a lucrative job in Saudi Arabia for the halls of the University of The Gambia, Manjang simply said:

“ This is not about money, it is about my passion to pass on my knowledge to the next generation of Gambian scientists.”
