UK based airline TUI will commence direct flights to The Gambia from Sunday 1st November 2020. A two weeks flight only deal from Manchester to Banjul will cost £539 without baggage.
The move came following the collapse of Thomas Cook Airlines which operated direct flights to Banjul form major airports in the UK for nearly two decades. Although TUI direct flight tickets to Banjul are slightly higher than a typical Thomas Cook flight ticket, regular direct flights availability is a welcome development for thousands of visitors to the West African nation which depends on Tourism as a major source of employment and foreign exchange earner for the country.
TUI will operate direct flights from Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham airports from November to April which covers the tourism season in The Gambia.
This is a welcome news for thousands of business owners, employees, petty traders, diaspora Gambians in the United Kingdom and visitors to The Gambia who were devastated by the news of the collapse of Thomas Cook Airlines which operated cheap and direct flights to The Gambia from three major UK airports.
