A Meen Faal lone goal earned Gunjur United victory over 2nd Infantry

Gunjur United earned their first win of the GFF division two league through a lone goal from star player, Meen Faal which was enough to defeat Second Infantry and climbed above them in the league. Both sides came into the game with a mentality of a must win game having bagged 2 points and 3 points respectively after 4 outings.

That being said, both sides named a strong side to go for the win and Gunjur started brightly into the first period but not many clear cut chances were created until in the 31st mins when a long masterclass killer pass from Bakary Toure alias Nfab to Meen Faal who chested down the ball, controlled and made a perfect run down the left wing to beat the keeper with a fine strike into the bottom corner of the net thus sending his teammates and backroom staff into a wild jubilant mood.

Second Infantry rallied and started exhibiting some aggressive and physique thus resulting to some bookable offences, notwithstanding, upon receiving instructions from their backroom staff, they started producing some marginal moments after Abdoulie beat the defence but failed to find the back of the net thanks to Gunjur's young talented goal keeper Sainey Trawally whose timely arrival rescued his team from a leveller.

Then came another clear cut chance in the 42nd min from Second Infantry when Ebou could've levelled matters with almost a 6 yard strike but failed to strike to the disappointment of his teammates and his backroom staff.

Upon resumption of the second half, Gunjur United started brightly once more with some great composure, a more organised and a solid performance especially from their defence who dealt well with all the incoming threats from Infantry.

With not much remaining until the Central Referee brought an end to the match, Second Infantry were desperately and furiously in search of an equaliser but thanks to Gunjur's resilience especially their defence who stood firm to counter all the threats and dangers and their efforts paid dividend after the Central Referee blew his whistle to end the end to end entertaining affair with Gunjur United winning by a goal to nil. The win moves Gunjur United to 11th with five points from five games.
