Kombo Sillah Association (UK) will go to congress on Friday, 3rd August to elect new trustees to steer the affairs of the Association for the next twelve months.
The Bristol based registered charity which is currently headed by Buba Kasong Barrow as board Chairman will present activity and financial reports to the general membership covering a period of 18 months in office, followed by election of new trustees.
The congress which was initially scheduled to take place on 3rd March was called off due to severe weather conditions across most parts of the UK causing transport and travelling difficulties for members of the association scattered across the UK. GunjurNewsOnline has learned that members will be vying for the top jobs of Board Chairman, Director of Finance, Secretary General, Funding and Director to lead the venerable KSA to the next level, building on the great gains of the current leadership. The congress will be followed by start of the 2018 Cultural Weekend on Friday night.
The 3rd Edition of the KSA Cultural Weekend will this year see the attendance of the Gambia’s Deputy High Commissiner to the United Kindgom, H.E Kalifa Bojang who will represent the Gambia’s UK Mission to the Cultural extravaganza on Friday night.
The Cultural night will be followed by an all day affair at the Natham Park in collaboration with the Senegambia Hidden Talents where there will be a football tournament in memory of late Baboucarr Boye Neneh Jaata who was a founding member of Kombo Sillah Association. The football tournament will see Gunjur and Sukuta lock horns for a chance to lift the coveted trophy sponsored by Paradise Express Services Ltd of Baboucarr Manjang. Teams from Cardiff, Bristol, a Sierra Leone Bristol Team, and Newport Senegambia Team.
The weekend will be concluded with a “Dress to Impress” night of with Bristol’s finest DJ’s Lamin France and DJ Smiley.
