Undoubtedly, one of Gunjur’s brightest youngsters; Famara Badjie has been officially appointed as a Sport commentator and reporter for Gambia Radio and Televison Services (GRTS). Young Famara impressed sports fans with his skills as a commentator in the last Super Nawettan competitions. He received rousing accolades among the people who listened to his football commentaries during the tournament.
Who is Famara Badjie?
Famara Badjie attended TARUD Kindergarten school in early 1990s. Then he proceeded to Gunjur Lower Basic and Secondary schools prior to graduation at Charles Fowlis Senior Secondary School with a high school diploma. Upon completion of high school, he studied for a Certificate in Mass Communication and Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies at Institute of Professional Administration and Management (IPAM).
He also attended numerous training programs on Introduction to Journalism and Basic News Writing, Production and Presentation at Gambia Press Union organised by Nna Gambia News Online Platform. In his brief but accomplished journalism career, he served as Kombo South sports correspondent for FMB Radio in Brikama. While pursuing gainful journalistic world elsewhere, he also worked in a voluntary capacity as a sports reporter and commentator for Gunjur Janneh Koto FM radio. He also writes stories for social and online media platforms like gambiafootballleagues.com, Gunjur News Online, Gambia F League, Gunjur Nkolu, G-Sports Network, Empire Sport Report and Analysis.
